Absolutely! All of our SOY CANDLES and REED DIFFUSERS come boxed and ready for gifting. Please check the "gift checkbox" in your shopping cart. If you would like to leave a gift note, be sure to include it in the "Special Instructions" section below the subtotal in your cart before clicking “CHECKOUT”. Please note all shipments include Commonwealth Provisions' return address and branding on the exterior carton.

We want to ensure that you are fully satisfied with your product and experience! Please contact us at hello@commonwealthprovisions.com  within 5 business days of receiving your product.  After 5 business days, we cannot guarantee a full refund. If you would like to try a particular scent, let us know in the comment section at checkout and we'll do our best to include it!

We process and ship most orders from our Fredericksburg, Virginia studio within 1-3 business days. During the holiday season it may take up to 7 days to ship due to the number of orders. Once your order is shipped, orders may take 2-10 days to arrive in the continental USA, depending on your location. We send out tracking notification emails as soon as a shipment leaves our studio. 

Sales made to shipping addresses in the Commonwealth of Virginia are subject to a 5.3% sales tax.

Our standard candles are 8 oz. with a burn time of 40-50 hours. 

Our travel candles are 4 oz with a burn time of approximately 15 hours. 

Our SAMPLE AT HOME program is a great way to test out our scents before buying a full size candle. You get to choose 4 tealights in whatever scents you want and we will send them out to you with free shipping. With the tealights, you get a coupon for $10 off the purchase of a full size candle within 30 days. 

Always trim your wicks to 1/4 of an inch before lighting your candle. Trim your wick with a simple finger pinch or by using scissors or a proper WICK TRIMMER. As a safety precaution, never leave wick trimmings (matches or other debris, for that matter) in your candle jar!  It is also recommended to burn until the wax pool reaches the edge of the jar to prevent tunneling. The best scent throw comes after burning for more than 1-2 hours. Avoid burning more than 4 hours at a time.Never leave a candle unattended or in reach of children, pets or a draft. Allow the jar to cool completely before handling.

Our candle formula is simple: cotton wick, soy wax, and fragrance oil. The fine fragrance oils used in our candles are made of a blend of both naturally and synthetically developed ingredients, and are infused with essential oils.

Traditionally, candles were made with paraffin wax. An end-product of petroleum, Paraffin contains up to 11 carcinogenic compounds deemed 'toxic air contaminants' by the State of California. An air quality researcher, David Krause, has documented evidence that candle soot particles contain many of the same compounds as burning diesel fuel. The petrol-carbon soot that paraffin wax emits can blacken walls, ceilings, and furniture, contaminate ventilation ductwork in your home, as well as add toxic carcinogens into the air you breathe.

Soy candles are better for you and for the environment. Soy wax is non-toxic and burns cleaner than paraffin, with no petrol-carbon soot.  Soy candles burn slower and cooler than paraffin wax, giving them a longer life-span than paraffin candles. Since soybeans are vegetables, soy wax is naturally biodegradable, making it easier to remove from the candle container after burning, easier to clean up if spilled on other surfaces, and comes out of clothing in the wash.

Our candles are considered vegan! Neither we nor our suppliers engage in animal testing.

All our fragrances are phthalate free. Phthalates are used to dissolve raw materials in apothecary goods, medicine and fragrances. Recently there has been concern linking high levels of phthalates to health issues, especially in children. While there are no regulations against phthalate use in candles, we decided not to work with fragrances with phthalates in them. The levels of phthalates typically found in a candle are not harmful to a consumer or manufacturer, but we decided that simpler is always better.

Soy wax does not naturally cool with a perfectly smooth candle top. But once you burn the candle again, it will create a liquid wax pool that continues to give off a wonderful fragrance. Other waxes or additives need to be added to the natural soy wax to create a smooth top after burning. Cotton and Wax candles are made with soy wax without any of these additives.

Our reed diffusers contain 3 oz. of fine fragrance oil. The bottle measures 4.5" in height, reeds are 10" long.

Our reed diffusers last about 2-3 months. For the best fragrance experience, we recommend flipping the rattan reeds weekly or when the fragrance becomes weak. We also suggest keeping diffusers away from direct sunlight or anything that emits heat to prevent the reeds from drying out prematurely.

Each 4 oz. bottle is filled with precisely 3 oz. of scented diffuser oil. You will note that the diffuser oil does not completely fill the slightly larger bottle. This is to prevent spillage when the reeds are placed in the bottle, and allows the diffuser to properly soak up and disperse the fragrance.

C.P. reed diffusers contain fine fragrance oils that are made of a blend of both naturally and synthetically developed ingredients. We develop our products to be safe and cost-effective for our customers.

All our products, including reed diffusers, are considered vegan. We are happy to report neither we nor our suppliers engage in animal testing.

Our reed diffuser fragrance oil is not strictly made up of essential oils and is not developed for use in water-based aromatherapy diffusers or humidifiers.

Please do not consume or use the oil on your skin as perfume, and keep away from children and pets. If the oil spills, clean up immediately, as the oils can cause damage to some finishes and fabrics.

We created our incense with the same scent profiles of our soy wax candles, you may notice a slight variation in fragrance. This is because no two products are made with the exact same ingredients and each are applied in their own unique way. We find that our incense stays true to the C.P. fragrances, while offering a new and unexpected sensory experience.

Light the tip of the incense at a slight angle with a lighter or match, and allow the flame to burn for approximately 30 seconds; extinguish the flame by gently blowing. The incense should produce a glowing red ember and a tendril of smoke, and will continue to burn on its own. Place the incense on a heatproof, non-flammable holder - the lid of the incense tin works great. Always burn incense in a well-ventilated room, away from flammable materials. Never leave incense burning unattended or in reach of children, pets or a draft.

A single incense cone will burn for approximately 20-30 minutes, while the scent longevity lasts for about 2-4 hours.

Our wood-based incense is hand-dipped in our Virginia studio using fine fragrance oils and dipropylene glycol (DPG), a synthetic base commonly found in body care and home fragrance products.
